The Story

The Land

Two Tanzanias in the cup. The north grows on the volcanic slopes of Kilimanjaro and Meru, bright and citric. The Southern Highlands around Mbeya run deeper, more chocolate and balance. High ground throughout.

The Peaberry

Most cherries carry two flat seeds. A small share carry one round one, the peaberry. One seed takes the sugar meant for two: denser, more concentrated, and it roasts evenly. Tanzania is the origin the world ties to it.

The Terroir

Volcanic soil, cool air, two rainy seasons feeding slow ripening. Southern lots dry better and ship cleaner. The result is a gentler, wine-like acidity than Kenya with the same fruit lift.

In the Cup

Citrus zest and stone fruit over cocoa and caramel. Bright, sweet, layered. The peaberry just says it louder.
